Gaming: Event-Preview
The gaming agency Woop has set itself the goal of making gaming an experience in all situations. One area that is close to their hearts is accessibility, especially in gaming. That is why they are starting of a series of events called “Spawnpoint” in February 2021. This will serve as a platform for everyone who wants to exchange ideas in this area, regardless of whether they are developers, those affected or content producers. In the video, the current situation of accessibility in gaming is discussed with selected specialists. 2/10 Focus on 16:00 – 17:00 Focus on: Cutting-edge technologies In this Session, cutting edge technologies are on stage, so brandnew and innovative that the Zero Project puts this special limelight on them: (1) “Guide me”, an online support system, (2) “Lichtwerk” (Belgium) introduce Smart Assistive Augmented Reality (AR) to work stations, (3) “Ask Tobi” (Austria) is a web search feature targeted at persons with intellectual disabilities, (4) “Vem CA” (from Escola de Gente, Brazil) has a focus on accessibility for different cultural events like cinemas, theatres and shows, (5) “Atvisor”  (Israel) is a digital platform that supports assessments of Assistive Technologies, and (6) Equalizent (Austria) has developed innovative games for deaf persons. 2/10 Co-Conferencing 17:00 – 18:00 An inclusive digital economy, co-hosted by the ILO and Fundación ONCE ILO GBDN together with Fundación ONCE will present the publication “A digital economy for people with disabilities”, developed in the framework of Disability Hub Europe, a multi-stakeholder initiative led by Fundación ONCE and co-funded by the European Social Fund (ESF), followed by a discussion panel. The objective of this publication is to increase awareness of the impact of a digital world of work on people with disabilities and identify actions needed to shape a future of work in a more disability-inclusive way. The session will count with the participation of reference actors including Global Apprenticeship Network (GAN), the European Commission, the World Bank (TBC), the European Disability Forum (EDF) (TBC), as well as ONCE Social Group.
